What You’ll Need

See the recipe card below for the full recipe, including ingredient quantities and full instructions.

  • Cream cheese – Set this out to soften before mixing.
  • Unsalted butter – Let this soften along with the cream cheese.
  • Confectioners’ sugar – You may want to sift this, especially if yours has been sitting in the pantry for a while.
  • Brown sugar – Light brown sugar lends a bit of molasses flavor that pairs well with the cinnamon.
  • Greek yogurt – This helps give the dip a creamy consistency. Use plain or go with vanilla if you want a bigger vanilla flavor.
  • Cinnamon – Use a good quality cinnamon that suits your tastes. Learn more: Types of Cinnamon: A Home Baker’s Guide
  • Vanilla extract – Either store-bought or homemade vanilla extract will work.
  • Start mixing. Beat together the cream cheese and butter until smooth.
  • Finish mixing. Add both sugars, the yogurt, cinnamon, and vanilla. Mix until thoroughly combined and smooth.
  • Chill. Transfer the dip to a serving bowl, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving.
  • Serve. Plate the dip with an assortment of dippers. (See below for some ideas.)

Tips for Success

  • Soften the butter and cream cheese. Let these sit out before mixing so they’ll make a smooth, lump-free dip.
  • Mix thoroughly. Beat the ingredients well to ensure a creamy, lump-free dip.
  • Chill after mixing. Just that short time in the refrigerator will let the flavors meld and improve the consistency. If you want to make it in advance, let the dip sit at room temperature for about 10 minutes before serving.
  • Serve with variety. Offer a variety of dippers, both sweet and salty, to cater to different preferences. This adds fun and variety to your dessert spread.

Serving Suggestions

There are so many options for what to serve alongside your snickerdoodle cookie dip. Here are some of my favorites to get you started:

  • Crunchy cookies. Shortbread, animal crackers, graham crackers, vanilla wafers, waffle cookies, Pirouline.
  • Pretzels. For a salty contrast.
  • Fresh fruit. Apple slices and strawberries are my favorites.
  • More cinnamon. Cinnamon-sugar pita chips or cinnamon graham crackers.
  • Individual portions. If you’re serving a large crowd, consider portioning the dip into individual cups for easy serving and to avoid double-dipping.

How to Store

Keep your snickerdoodle cookie dip in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3 to 5 days. Before serving, give it a good stir as some separation might occur. If it’s too firm, let it sit at room temperature for a bit to soften up.

Can This Dessert Dip Be Frozen?

I don’t recommend freezing this snickerdoodle cookie dip, as it can become grainy or watery after thawing. If you do want to try freezing it, be sure to place it in a well-sealed, freezer-safe container and store for up to a month. Thaw overnight in the refrigerator and stir well before serving.
