At Bake or Break, baking doesn’t have to be complicated. Every recipe is:

  • Simple to make with clear instructions and accessible ingredients
  • Tested for reliability so you can bake with confidence
  • From-scratch recipes (mostly) – The focus is on homemade, but I’m not above a shortcut when it makes sense.
  • Approachable and rewarding, whether you’re baking for a casual treat or a special celebration

A Little History

Hi, I’m Jennifer McHenry! I launched Bake or Break in 2006 as a way to share my love of baking and connect with fellow dessert lovers. What started as a hobby is now my full-time job—and a trusted go-to for home bakers who love simple, scratch-made desserts.

Over the years, my recipes have been featured by Southern LivingThe Washington PostMarthaStewart.comPBS, and more. I still do all the recipe testing myself to make sure everything you see here is something you’d want to make in your own kitchen.
