VANILLA BEAN CAKE

This easy vanilla bean cake is tender, moist, and flecked with vanilla beans in every bite. The vanilla brown butter icing is a fantastic finishing touch!

Whisk the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a bowl.

Mix the dry ingredients

Mix the wet ingredients

Cream the butter and brown sugar at medium speed, then beat the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla.

Finish the batter

Mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients in 3 portions, alternating with 2 portions of the sour cream.

Bake

Pour the cake batter into a greased and floured round cake pan and bake at 350ºF for 30 to 35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Cool

Let the cake cool in the pan on a wire rack for 10 minutes, then turn it out directly onto the rack to finish cooling.
