Whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.

Mix the dry ingredients

Mix the wet ingredients

In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar; once well-combined, whisk in the egg, milk, and vanilla.

Finish the dough

Gradually stir the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients, then fold in the chocolate.

Form the cookies

Scoop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet and press them down slightly to flatten.

One pan at a time, bake the cookies for 15-20 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown but the center is still soft.
