You'll need flour, sugar, cocoa powder, and buttermilk for extra richness. Plus, butter and cream for the frosting, of course.

Step 1. First, whisk together the dry ingredients in a mixing bowl.

Step 2. In a separate bowl, combine the wet ingredients.

Step 3. Add the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, and mix!

Step 4. Portion the batter out into a lined muffin pan. Then it's time to bake!

Step 5. Bake the chocolate cupcakes in a 350ºF oven for 20 minutes. Once they're out of the oven, let them cool completely before you frost them! 

Step 6. Time to make the frosting! Beat together the butter and frosting ingredients until they're smooth and creamy.

Step 7. Use a piping bag to frost your cupcakes with swirls of buttercream. Decorate and enjoy!
