Microwave the chocolate and butter in a microwave-safe bowl at half power in 30-second increments, until the butter melts and the chocolate also melts when stirred.

Combine the wet ingredients

Mix the sugar, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla in a large mixing bowl until they’re well combined. Stir in the chocolate-butter mixture until smooth.

Add the dry ingredients

Stir in the flour and salt until just combined.

Bake

Spread the batter into the prepared pan. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes, or until a pick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs attached.

Cool

Run a knife along the non-lined sides of the pan. Cool completely in the pan on a wire rack.
