Preheat your oven to 350°F and grease a 9- x 13- x 2-inch baking pan. For easy removal, you can also line the pan with parchment paper.

Mix the dry ingredients

Whisk the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl.

Mix the wet ingredients

Use an electric mixer on medium speed to cream the butter and granulated sugar until they’re light and fluffy.

Finish the batter

Reduce the mixer speed to low. Add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture in three portions, alternating with two portions of the buttermilk.
